Need to buy new practice ball for 13 year old boy, competitive soccer?
New season and I need to buy him a new soccer practice ball, size 5. Can anyone recommend a brand and model between $20.00 - $40.00 ?
As a college soccer athlete, I have had experience with many types of soccer balls. The $20 - $40 price range puts you looking at typical "Match Balls" rather than the cheap "Training Balls" which run from $10 - $20. For a 13 year old you are going to want something that is going to hold up, and there are a few options that I would recommend:
The Adidas Teamgeist MB Replique ($24) is a replica of the ball used in the World Cup last year and has been FIFA Inspected.
The Puma v3.06 NFHS is a match ball ($29) that is FIFA Inspected and Approved for all High School Soccer games.
The Nike T90 Premier Team Ball ($39) is also NFHS Approved for High School competition, and is known to hold up well with much use.
